Aims of the Coogee Owls ME/CFS Support Group:
To create a safe environment in which ME/CFS sufferers can discuss not only their physical symptoms but the impact the disease has had on their lives and relationships. A place where we can talk about our own experience without someone telling us what we should do, think or feel or us telling others “my way is the best way”. Often our own best answers lie within. However we may need a place where we can hear ourselves think or alternatively derive sustenance from the experiences of other ME/CFS sufferers.
Note: it is not necessary to share anything but your name if you wish.

To develop into a supportive network between (not just during) meetings and lessen the isolation that occurs so often with this disease. Then if one person is not available by phone hopefully another will be. Swapping contact details is encouraged.

Guidelines:
•Confidentiality: what happens within the group stays within the group; this is critical for trust
•Listening 100%: i.e. only one person speaks at a time
•Acceptance of others’experience: not judging, criticizing or imposing our “world view” of CFS
•Stay with our feelings: they are real, not what we or others think they should be

*DIRECTIONS
Public Transport: 1-2 minutes from beach and bus terminal to Circular Quay, Central Station, Bondi Junction and Leichhardt (via Glebe, Newtown). Buses leave on time! (time-tables available at local news agencies)
