Uni

Well, I'm almost to the end of the first half of my uni preparation course, and I have to say it feels good!!!
It was only today that I actually fully realised that I don't have to do any more essays or assignments!! (this semester anyway!) *Phew* what a big relief!!
I still have an exam to do, next week, but with the special provisions from the disability services, and even more so from my tutor (who is also the course coordinator) I don't think it'll be too difficult!!
I even get to do the exam on my laptop! How awesome is that?! Cool
Anyway, I just thought I'd update on my uni stuff!!
PS I get 6 weeks off between finishing the first and second parts of the course!! Woo-Hoo!! Laughing out loud

Congratulations Amy on

Congratulations Amy on getting into uni. I did that degree quite a few years ago and from memory the full time first year was 4 subjects including sociology, psychology, another arts subject and a social work subject. Placements tended to have a 2 or 3 ft week block then were 2 days pw for a semester except for one that was a 10 week FT block. However with the full time blocks other arrangments can be made for them to be done on a PT basis.
Anyhow you can do a part workload and I'm sure you know to register with the disability officer immediately to ensure you have the right supports.
I look forward to hearing about your progress. I'll be back at uni first week in March, it's coming up so soon.
A friend I visited in Nov last year then again last week said I hadn't been looking well in Nov but was looking much better last week I feel because I was pretty much FT with both uni and work plus aggravation of various health conditions.

Uni

I got my marks back today, because it was the final class (I'm both happy and sad about that fact!)

I'm rather happy about my marks, because I got 70% overall, and pretty good marks on my last 3 assessments (including the exam)!!!

This means that I can definitely apply to uni next year (assuming I don't totally stuff up my general education elective next semester!!)

I'm kinda giddy!! Who wants to party??!! Cool

Woo hoo!!!

Well, after completing the University Preparation Program (UPP) last year (even with the not so good marks in my general education course), I got into uni for this year, amazingly enough to my first preference, Social Work at UNSW!!!!
I admit to shrieking quite loudly when I read the offer!! I think it's still sinking in, because every so often I get a stupid grin on my face!

Anyway, I don't start classes until the 2nd week of March, but I've got an academic advising day (hopefully they can help me to pick some subjects to do), then there's O Week, which hopefully won't exhaust me with all the stuff they seem to have planned!!!

Hope everyone's ok with this heat!!!
