Weary shopper

I went shopping, I came home, I crashed.....I almost didn't make it home.....chocolate bars are rather good for when you feel like going clunk to the floor Laughing out loud

Looked more at computers.....the one I have my eyes on at the moment is an Acer 3634, which I can get for $996 at Bing Lee with a bonus 256mb ram thrown in that takes it to 512 ram. It has either 40gb or 60gb, the store demo and the catalogue differ. It does have a dual layer dvd burner built in, comes with xp home, but doesn't have nero, I think it has another program, NTI CD & DVD Maker. Dick Smith seems to have the same one, but I have to check again on the price and specs.
I've also noticed on quite a few of the computers they say designed for xp, vista capable.
Then there's the fact of Intel Core Solo processors coming down in price, only a few hundred $ more than Celerons.

My head is confused and muddled..... Puzzled I think its time to rest!!

Now I'm even more weary!!!
I went computer shopping again today.....and I did way too much walking....some of it mostly due to a "nice" bus driver who decided to not stop at the bus stop when I hailed the bus.

Anyway, I saw a really good deal on a computer today, the only thing is I have to make my mind up in the next few days or so, otherwise they'll run out of stock.
Here's the deal:
Toshiba Satellite M100/F00, Intel Centrino Solo, 512MB RAM, 60GB HDD, Dual Layer DVD burner, 128MB Intel Graphics, 14.4 inch screen, XP Home, and Vista capable. Can't think of anything else at the moment about it, other than the deal on it.
Its usually $1599, but is on special for $1298 due to surplus stock, and even has a $60 laptop bag chucked in for free.

I think it's a good deal, especially since it seems like it's a fairly upgradeable computer in the future.

What does anyone else think? (before I go spending my money!!)

Sounds pretty reasonable Smiling Laptops are a bit outside my scope, but I think that covers most of not all of what you need for a reasonable price Smiling
