Well, it ran past the front of my house today with a large mastiff that looked like it had jumped the fence.
I lured it into the garage with a can of catfood (which I had to rescue from the mastiff a few times, he was a very good boy though, not even a growly look) and managed to close the front roller door with him inside. He's had a quick warm rinse to heat him up and get rid of some of the ick from his coat, and i've hacked off the matted fur from his rear end.
He's covered in fleas and very nervy, but at the same time he's a real gentleman, petrified of my cats and very respectful of humans. So many times he should have growled or nipped me, and he was incredibly patient with me the whole way through, even when I was trying in vain to clean him up
I'm think, I might put my name down at the pound should he not be claimed....
I don't much care for mopdogs, but this one seems...sensible.

Hmm, Well, I should update on this.
I had puppy in the backyard, and at 1am i went to check on him, and he didn't come. Jerry said that he was probably sleeping, but it turns out he snuck down the side of the shed and out of the yard.
I found him about a week later, hopping around on 3 legs while (bindi?) i was going to catch a train. I said I'd come grab him when i was coming back, and I did. I had to carry the little flearidden mop all the way home as it refused to budge from its large mate's yard
THAT time he burrowed out through the lava rock on the other side of the house, heaven knows how badly he mauled his paws.
I couldn't find him after that, but yesterday I saw the little scamp following his big mate (who was on a lead being walked by a lady with a pram) along the road, happy as larry. I've spotted him sleeping in that yard today, he's small enough to fit through the fence railings. I don't know if they own him, but he's getting food from there, and he seems far more content there than he does anywhere near me, so thats the way it'll be i guess.
Ah well

Aww, what a cute little mopdog!!!
You reming me of the days when I used to rescue dogs off the street....these days there's too many, and I can't bring any of them home to my unit.
I've got some leads, and also some Fido sample sachets, let me know if they'd be useful for you.
