Cream of *blah* soups

I've just discovered cream of veggie soups!

Basically you chop up your veggie (pick one type, like a cauliflower or pumpkin) and simmer it in about 3 cups of chicken stock. Then you blend and add some cream.

Easy peasy AND they are easily freezable! just don't add the cream until you defrost Smiling

today I have made cream of broccoli and a pumpkin soup and I'm thinking I'll make cream of mushroom soup for dinner Smiling

Yummy!! I miss *real* soups, rather than canned.
I think I need to buy a blender.
I saw a nice receipe for pumpkin soup on Huey's Cooking Adventures today.
Do you want a pea and ham soup receipe? My grandmother makes it, I'm not a huge fan of it, but it is nice.
I must get that stew receipe from her too.

Thanks for the tip! I've just discovered that adding some cooked 2 min noodles to canned or fresh soup and putting it in a cup makes my kids scoff it down. They would never touch a bowl of soup which meant a can of soup was not an option for easy dinner on those bad days. Then a friend of mine suggested adding the noddles and putting it in a cup for them to scoop and drink. We call it "special sipper soup" and now they ask for it a lot! Smiling Smiling

Fantastic! You know, I have the same problem with my partner, he has some sort of problem with just having soup, so I might have to try something like that on him too!
